Stuttgart were beaten 2-1 by Schalke at home on Saturday afternoon in the Bundesliga. Croatian playmaker Ivan Rakitic gave Schalke the lead midway through the first half. The hosts equalised through Cacau, who scored his first league goal of the season after being set up by Julien Schieber. However their joy was short lived as Kevin Kuranyi restored Schalke’s lead three minutes later.
