Former Manchester City striker Georgios Samaras scored the only goal of the game. There was also controversy as Aiden McGeady received a second bookable offence for diving and was sent off.
Celtic have added to their squad with Chinese international midfielder Zheng Zhi joining on a free transfer after leaving League One Charlton in the summer. The Hoops managed to keep striker Scott McDonald during the transfer window, despite interest from Premier League Wigan.

Dundee United have won two and drew one of their league games so far this season. In their last game United defeated struggling Falkirk 2-1 at Tannadice Park. The goals came from former Everton striker Danny Cadamarteri and David Goodwillie with Kjartan Finnbogason hitting back for Falkirk. United currently sit third in the league behind today’s opponents and Rangers. United finished a respectable fifth place last season in the SPL and they will be looking to better that this season.
Former Everton striker Danny Cadamarteri is looking to revive his career at Tannadice after years of floating around in the English lower leagues. They also have experienced in goal in the shape of former Charlton star Nicky Weaver, who has already impressed this season.
