In the match before the enforced break for internationals, Bayern recorded their first win of the season – and what a win it was. They crushed the reigning champions Wolfsburg at the Allianz Arena by 3-0, putting a marker down as at the same time that they will not be rolling over this season in their quest to regain the league title.
The match against Wolfsburg last time out was a tetchy affair until the 68th minute when Bayern added their second goal. They had previously gone ahead in the 27th minute with a goal from Gomez and until Arjen Robben popped up with the first of his two goals for his new club in the 68th minute, the game was still anyone’s to win. The 3-0 victory, although rather flattering in the end, was deserved by the Bayern side and they can now go on to bigger and better things.
