When Atletico travelled across to Malaga in their first game of the season, nobody knew quite what to expect from the Madrid team. As it turned out the Atletico that just lets other teams roll over them turned up, and they suffered a rather heavy 3-0 defeat in the process. For their part, Racing Santander also endured the worst possible start to this season’s La Liga, and doesn’t bode well for the rest of the season. They entertained Getafe at home and were crushed 4-1, being 3-1 down at half time. Although way too early to talk about league tables, they do find themselves securely lodged at the bottom thanks to that heavy defeat, and will want to try to rectify matters sooner rather than later.
