Debrecen have lost all three of their Champions League fixtures so far, and will be out of contention for a spot in the knockout stages if they lose to Fiorentina on Wednesday night. The Hungarian champions gave Fiorentina some anxious moments when the two sides met in Budapest a fortnight ago.
Peter Czvitkovics put Debrecen 1-0 ahead in the second minute, before a brace from Adrian Mutu on either side of a Gilardino strike allowed Fiorentina to go 3-1 up Gergely Rudolf pulled one back for Debrecen, but Mario Santana restored Fiorentina’s two goal advantage in the 37th minute.
