Inter drew with Russian champions Rubin Kazan in their midweek Champions League game. Kazan took the lead through Alejandro Dominiguez in the 11th minute, but Inter equalised sixteen minutes later through midfielder Dejan Stankovic.
Brazilian wing back Maicon produced another good run down the right hand side, and crossed into the box. Rubin’s defenders had the two Inter players already present in the box covered, but they failed to notice the advancing Stankovic, who was allowed a free header. Inter were playing with Mario Balotelli and Samuel Eto’o upfront after Diego Milito pulled out citing muscle fatigue. Balotelli was sent off during the game, which made Inter play for nearly half an hour with ten men.
While Inter lost 1-0 to Sampdoria last week, Udinese picked up their third win in four games as they beat Genoa 2-0 at home. Antonio Di Natale opened the scoring for Udinese with his eighth goal of the season, and Simone Pepe made sure of all three points with his 88th minute effort.
