Barca beat Ukrainian outfit Dynamo Kyiv 2-0 on Match Day 2. Argentine superstar Lionel Messi scored the first on 25 minutes, collecting a pass from Xavi before firing past Oleksandr Shovkovskiy at his near post. Messi was also involved in the move that culminated in Pedro Rodriguez scoring Los Cules’ second of the game.

Messi dragged the ball from the right flank to the centre before passing it to Zlatan Ibrahimovic. The giant Swede picked out Pedro in the box, and the substitute controlled it perfectly before unleashing a low left footed shot past Shovkovskiy. Barca drew their weekend La Liga game against Valencia, a result that ended their six game winning streak in Spain.

Rubin Kazan, who were comprehensively beaten by Dynamo on Match Day 1, improved to pick up a point at home against Italian champions Internazionale on Group 2. Lanus born forward Alejandro Dominiguez, who had scored Rubin’s only goal of the game against Dynamo, put the hosts ahead with his 11th minute effort.

However Dejan Stankovic equalised for Inter on 27 minutes, and both teams had to be content with a share of the spoils. Rubin currently have one point from two fixtures, and are last in Group F. Goals from Gokdeniz Karadeniz and Alan Kasaev saw Rubin beat FK Khimki in their weekend Russian Premier League game.
