Juventus drew 2-2 with Genoa on Thursday night. Vincenzo Iaquinta gave Juve the lead after Mauro Camoranesi had fooled Genoa’s backline by dummying Claudio Marchisio’s pass. However Genoa equalised through Giandomenico Mesto, who rose to meet Giuseppe Sculli’s cross after half an hour.
Mesto turned provider in the second half as his cross allowed former Inter and Chelsea forward Hernan Crespo to head the Rossoblu ahead on 75 minutes. Giorgio Chiellini had his 84th minute strike disallowed for offside, but Juventus grabbed their equaliser through substitute David Trezeguet after Genoa failed to deal with a Fabio Grosso free kick properly.
Bologna picked up their first win of the new Serie A season when they beat Livorno 2-0 at home. Daniele Portanova and Marco di Vaio scored in either half to give Bologna a much needed win. The result took some pressure off the shoulders of under fire Bologna boss Giuseppe Papadopulo, who was given a vote of confidence by the club’s president ahead of the game.
Massimo Mutarelli will miss this game after undergoing an operation to repair a ruptured ligament. Also unavailable for the visitors is Davide Bombardini, but Giuseppe Papadopulo can again count on Roberto Guana and Rafael Santos for the tough trip to Turin this weekend.
